Privacy Policy
Our approach to personal information and how we use YouTube API Services.
LessonSlate ("LessonSlate," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at https://lessonslate.com and the LessonSlate Studio software used to produce educational videos (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains our approach to personal information and, in particular, how we use YouTube API Services.
Summary. LessonSlate is a first-party publishing tool. We use it to generate our own educational videos and upload them to our own YouTube channel, the LessonSlate channel. We do not collect personal information from website visitors for our own marketing or profiling, and we do not access or store data belonging to any other user, creator, or viewer through the YouTube API. The only personal information involved is what you provide to purchase LessonSlate Studio, which is handled by our third-party payment processor as described below.
1. Who we are
LessonSlate is operated by Revsol LLC, located in Texas, USA. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@lessonslate.com.
2. Information we collect
From website visitors — none. The LessonSlate website is informational. We do not require accounts, we do not ask visitors for personal information, and we do not sell or share any personal information.
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider Cloudflare may automatically record standard technical log data (such as IP address, browser type, and time of request) for security and reliability. We do not use this data to identify individuals.
If you contact us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your email address and message) solely to respond to you. We do not add it to any marketing list.
If you purchase LessonSlate Studio. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. You provide your payment details directly to that provider, and its handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We receive only limited transaction details (such as your name or email, plan purchased, and payment status) needed to fulfill and support your purchase.
Content generated by the Service. The Service generates lesson dialogue, synthesized audio, and rendered video. This content is created by LessonSlate for publication on the LessonSlate channel. It is our own content and does not contain personal information about third parties.
3. YouTube API Services
LessonSlate uses YouTube API Services to upload the videos it generates to the LessonSlate YouTube channel.
Your use of the YouTube platform is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and Google's handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
How we use the API. LessonSlate authorizes the YouTube Data API using its own Google account and uses it for a single purpose: to upload LessonSlate-generated videos to the LessonSlate channel and to set their titles, descriptions, tags, and related metadata.
What we do not do. We do not use the YouTube API to access, collect, or store data belonging to any other person, channel, or viewer. We do not read audience, analytics, comment, or subscriber data through the API. We do not sell or transfer any YouTube data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
Stored authorization data. The only data we retain in connection with the API is the authorization (OAuth) credential for our own account, stored securely, and the videos and metadata we generate and publish. We retain these only as long as needed to operate the channel or as required by law.
Revoking access. Because the connection is to our own Google account, LessonSlate can revoke the API authorization at any time through the Google security settings page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to: operate and secure the website, respond to messages you send us, and generate and publish our own educational videos to the LessonSlate channel via the YouTube API. We do not use information for profiling, advertising, or sale.
5. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it except: with the service providers that host or operate the Service on our behalf (for example, our hosting provider Cloudflare, our payment processor Stripe for Studio purchases, and the AI/text-to-speech tools used to generate content); with YouTube/Google when we publish a video; or where required by law.
6. Cookies
The website does not use cookies or trackers.
7. Children's privacy
The website is informational and directed to educators, creators, and parents, not to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the limited data we hold, including secure storage of the API authorization credential for our account. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if our practices change — for example, if we later introduce user accounts, analytics, or features that upload to third-party channels. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If our data practices change, this policy will be revised before those practices take effect.
